About Us
House of Mercy Education Centre is a registered charity in Australia (ABN: 25175336657), with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, meaning all donations are tax-deductible. Our mission is to support some of the most vulnerable children in Baidoa, Somalia, where many of our students have lost one or both parents and face extreme poverty. In this community, over 84% of households live below the poverty line, and children endure conditions that impact even the most basic aspects of life. Baidoa residents have access to just four hours of electricity each day.
For these children, we provide free education and daily meals, ensuring they not only receive knowledge but also the essential nourishment they need to thrive. At House of Mercy Education Centre, we are dedicated to offering a safe space for young orphans and impoverished children, giving them hope and a foundation for a better future.
